Visitors, YAY!!!

It's always fun when peeps come see us. My sister Holly and her fam got to come stay with us for the Easter weekend. It was so fun to have them here, even though we got a noise complaint called on us from the "Mad Lady" that lives below us. HAHA Well, whenever someone comes to see us, then of course we need to take them to Kirtland. So we packed lunches for us and spent the whole day doing church history sites. It's always so cool to hear about the church history that happened right here, and be in the exact room where Heavenly Father and Jesus were. They also had a really cool bronze exhibit of all sorts of Christ sculptures set up at the visitor's center, which we had never seen. They were amazing!

Our nice little picnic in Kirtland. After we got done eating, Jeff and Had decided to have a contest who could throw a grape up the highest and catch it in their mouth. Well after some fat lips and sore teeth, it quickly evolved into other items of food being tossed in the air. Here's a pic of Had catching a sliced tomato from our sandwhich.... only he caught it with his face, not his mouth.

We also went swimming at the rec center down the road. It was fun for most peeps, just not Jete. We went during the time he is normally taking a nap, and he was struggling. Here he is being nerdy, trying to decide if he should be crying or laughing. This was right before i figured out he had pooped his little swim diaper. Yeah, that is pretty disgusting and hard to clean off.

My cute little nephews, Grey and Miles, enjoying the lazy river.

Jete LOVED being with his cousins. He followed them everywhere. When we would all load up in the cars to go somewhere, Jete thought he should ride with them and would just climb in their van and act like he was one of them. He cried every time we would pull him out and put him in our car. Poor little guy needs to be around all his cousins more. It was a sad day when they were leaving. He cried as we watched them drive away. I'm so glad that he at least gets to see some of his cousins every once in awhile. Thanks again for coming guys, we loved it!

Easter

It was fun to celebrate Easter this year with my sister and her family. We all decorated Easter cookies Saturday night. Here's some of our best creations, or the ones that didn't get eaten first. We even got Had and Jeff to decorate some....only cuz we told them they couldn't eat any unless they decorated it. Too bad I didn't get any pics of their wonderful masterpieces though, they were lookin good.

Here's everyone Easter Morning eating all their treats.
I don't know how many pictures I took over the weekend where I tried to get everyone to smile. Who knew candy would do the trick?

Jete was so happy when he got his Easter basket. I'm sure he couldn't figure out why we were just letting him eat candy like crazy, but he didn't want to try and find out. He shoved in the candy as fast as he could.

We had a little Easter egg hunt for all the kids. Jete was pretty funny. He ran and got the first egg he saw, shook it, and said, "CANDY!" (Although it sounds more like NANNY!) He opened the egg and dumped it out on the rocks where he could see each piece, then picked them up one by one, eating them off the ground. After he found each egg, he wanted the candy out of them immediately!

Here's all the little tikes showing off their loot....notice Jeter is still looking for more of his candy on the ground.

A bad week

The week started off a little like this...

Then after coughing, puking, diarrhea, and fever for a few days, he got to this stage....
Miserable!

When his fever finally broke and he quit throwing up, we thought that things would start getting better, but nope. He started coughing like crazy, wouldn't eat anything, and wanted to sleep all day long for the next 3 days. He would literally beg for his bed. We would try and keep him awake, and he would fall asleep wherever he was. After a visit to an urgent care, the E.R., his pediatrician, a chest x-ray, 5 breathing treatments, medication, and more puking, we only got 5 different diagnosis....pneumonia, RSV, dehydration, bronchiolitis, and a sinus infection with the flu. Lovely doctors, lovely.

After he finally got on the right medication, he was almost instantly better, and is a happy little boy again, YAY!!! St. Patty's Day was the first day in one week that he actually smiled and wanted to run around. The weather was so nice that day, I took him out and played outside with him as long as he could last. We're so happy to have our little boy healthy and happy again.

Spring Break at Kalahari

Hadley finished another round of tests, doing awesome as always, then started Spring Break! We started it out by having our friends Josh and Karlie come and stay with us for the weekend. It was fun getting to see them again. Then we went to a car show, and some outlet malls. We went to Kalahari (a big indoor waterpark) last year for spring break and decided we wanted to do it again this year. So we packed up and stayed there for 3 days. It was fun to get away by ourselves for awhile. When we got tired of swimming we'd go back to our hotel room and lounge, then go back and swim until we got tired again. We thought Jete would have a lot more fun this year, since he was only 8 months old last time we went.

I looked up and saw Jete, thinkin he was the king of this place.

"The King" taking over someone else's cabana.

We couldn't let Jete have all the fun. This is one of our favorite rides. We call it the toilet bowl. Ya never know how your gonna get dumped out, but one thing is for sure, my swimming suit came off every time i went down. For some reason there is always a boy lifeguard at the bottom. Hmmm. Hopefully it was too splashy to see anything.

This wave pool is one of my favorites too. Had and Jete didn't like it as much. When Jete would get sick of swimming, they would go sit on the chairs and eat snacks and watch while i played in the waves.

Here's a few of Jete's favorites...

So we thought that he would like it more this year cuz he was older, but this was a common theme while we were there....

him running out of the pools

and playing "get you" on dry ground.

Our Latest Doings

Valentines Day
We got to spend the whole day together (which is very rare), so after we cooked a big breakfast together, we decided to take Jete to the Great Lakes Science Center. We let him run wild and that's mainly what he did. He didn't care too much about playing with any of the cool things they have, he just wanted to run. He did have fun with a few of the things there at least. After that we came home and ate chocolate covered strawberries and watched the NBA 3 point and dunk contest. I think i got all my favorites in one day... a big breakfast, a new workout outfit, chocolate, fruit, basketball, and of course spending the day with the two loves of my life. A perfect day!

Our Version of Sledding
I just thought this picture was kinda funny. It's Had pulling Jete in a sled to go take the garbage out to the dumpster. It was too cold to take him sledding for real, so we bundled him up for a few quick trips to the dumpster. He loved every second of it too. What nice parents he has! :)

Superbowl Sunday
We had a superbowl party with some of our friends here. It was a lot of fun and we ate so much!

Go Cavs!
Yay we finally got to go to a Cav's game! We had great seats too, thanks to Mattie and Shane. It was a blast! We got to see LeBron James in all his glory...Haha. I tried to get a picture of him throwing the chalk up in the air but some popcorn vendor dude walked right in front of me when i took the picture. I don't know who we were more excited to see Chris Paul, otherwise known as CP3, or LeBron. Anyways, the Cavs won and it was a lot of fun. Had even caught a little basketball they threw out to the crowd, that's how good of seats we had!

18 Months

Our little boy is growing up so fast! He is now 18 months (well, because of my slow posting, is amost 19 months) and he is a little ball of energy. Here are some of the things he likes or is doing right now.

He talks like crazy and says just about any word that we ask him to.
I don't think he likes to walk because he runs everywhere he goes.
He runs on his toes and bounces as he runs.
He loves to watch Elmo and Little Einsteins.
He loves sandwhiches, popa's (popsicles), watermelon, and chips.
He usually has a bowl of grapes every night before he goes to bed.
He won't drink milk.
He has to feed himself and won't eat if you try and help him.
He loves to be with his daddy.
He loves to tell us NO!
He loves to ride anything that moves, except for the little rides in the malls. (He wants off of it if it starts moving.)

He was a gem on his first official day in nursery. We just dropped him off and he loved it. He did however steal the other kids' raisins while they weren't looking.
He gives the best hugs and kisses.
He loves animals.
He loves to play ball.
He loves to throw not only balls, but everything that he can grab.
He has just recently started wanting to wear his basketball jerseys all the time. (I don't know how he even knows they are basketball jerseys. We've never said anything to him about them.)
He loves to go to our basketball games.
He loves looking at pictures from the camera.
He loves to get into things he's not supposed to, then come and show us, and watch our reaction.
He loves to make us laugh.
He loves to climb on, under, and around everything.

He has been so much fun. He makes us laugh every day. He is definately all boy! I'm sad that he's growing up so fast and I know i will miss these days, even the days that i want to slap his mouth for telling me NO every second. We love this little boy so much!

Christmas Top 15

We got to go home for Christmas and we loved it! We had lots of people to visit and spend time with and the 3 weeks that we were there wasn't nearly enough time, but we were happy to have 3 weeks this year, since we only got 1 1/2 weeks last year. I was thinking about my favorite thing about going home for the holidays, and i thought of way too many favorites, so here they are, the top 15 in no particular order:

1)All the activities we do-whether we're snowmobiling, sledding, bowling, or swimming, I LOVE it!

2) Kids with Santa- Every year i love to see the kids with Santa. I like to try and predict which ones will sit on his lap willingly, which ones will cry, and which ones will give Santa a list of things they want.

3)Doggie Piles- Need i say more?

4) Christmas Parties- We have so many of them, but it wouldn't be like Christmas if we didn't.

5) Christmas Morning- Jete loved opening and getting presents. After he opened a couple with some cool toys inside, he thought they were all for him and tried to get everybody's presents.

6) Cousin Baths-Although the water gets disgustingly gross, especially after chocolate birthday cake, it's so fun to let the kids bath together and watch them play.

7) Uncles taking time for Jete- aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma's, and grandpa's too!

8) Family- I love getting to just hang out with my family, and Had's family. These two pics are at my parent's house. There was a total of 28 of us there, all staying in the same house. It's insane, but I love it and I'm gonna be so sad when we can't all stay under the same roof!!!

9) Cousins Playing- All the kids around Jete's age just loved the stairs. They played on these like crazy. Jete's the one at the bottom, cheering for himself that he made it down first. :) Just kidding. (That was for you Linds) HAHA

10) Daddy and Jete time- I love watching these two play together and spending time together. I think Had is super excited cuz it looks like Jete is going to share the love of snowmachines with him. He LOVED them and cried when we would pull him off to go inside.

And i don't have pictures for these last 5, but they can't be left off my list.
11) Getting my hair done- I have a wonderful mother in-law that does my hair whenever i want her to. She does such a good job, and there's nothing better than getting my nasty roots fixed. :)
12) Mi Casa's (Plum Loco)- My favorite Mexican Restaurant ever!
13) Going to the cabin-We get to stay in a cabin every year with Had's family. It's so relaxing and fun to just hang out, read, watch movies, games, play rockband, eat a lot of good food, and snowmobile.
14) Homemade Gifts- My family has to make the present for whoever's name we have. It's pretty much torch to try and think of what to make, or to actually make it, but it's so fun to see what everyone came up with. I look forward to this every year!
15) Good Food- There's treats and goodies everywhere you look, and homemade meals that i don't have to make! Heaven!
