New York in June

We went to Johnson City, New York for the month of June for Had's externship. Despite the fact that all four of us were in a one bedroom apartment for the month (it was free, so we can't really complain), it rained a whole lot, and we only had one car, we still managed to enjoy our time there. We became friends with some of the other residents and their families, and spent a lot of time hanging out with them. We had weiner roasts, dinners, games, and went to the strawberry fest with them. They were all so nice to us and made us feel very welcome. I also got to take the kids to do a few fun things around that area while Had was busy workin away. Just as a warning, i have tons of pictures so i might have to do a few more posts than this to document all the ones that i want to.

I can't remember what this place is called, but it was THE CUTEST children's museum. It had the funnest little things and I was wishing that I didn't have Jerzi in my arms so that I could have had an excuse to go play all the stuff with Jete. He loved it and would have played in there for hours. The grocery store was the coolest. It had everything regular grocery stores have, just miniaturized.

Jete and Jerzi started actually playing together this month. It was so fun to watch them interact with each other. They both loved to copy each other. I also straightened Jerzi's hair for the first time.

One of the girls that I met there was super nice and let me borrow her running stroller so I could go running with both kids. (Thanks again Heather!)

My friend Angie and her husband (from Cleveland) moved to Johnson City the same month that we were there, so we got to hang out with them a few times. They lived right across from a lake, so we went with them one day to it and played. It was super fun! We played in the sand and built this cool sand castle, HAHA while Had and Marshall went sailing.

They also have kayaks, and let us take them out on the lake. I was kinda scared to go, cuz if you lean to a side, they tip over. But I was real careful and didn't fall in, so then of course I loved it. Now I want kayaks of our own. Had was a lot more brave than me and he took Jete with him. Had warned him that he couldn't move or they would tip over. That was the stillest I've every seen Jete sit before in his life. They never tipped either.

Jete thought those little logs in the right picture were crocodiles. :)

The Aaronic Priesthood Restoration site wasn't too far away from where we were living.

The Susquehanna River
We took a little walk back through the woods and it opened up to the river. So pretty!

  1. Cin those are all fun pics. I think one of my faves is of you guys kayaking, cuz you both have on life jackets and Jete doesn't, its sweet ha. And I don't ever dare to go with Zach kayaking either, he has his own back home but we've never been. And Jerzi is so cute and I still can't decide who she looks like, in one pic she looks like Jete or Had and in another like you, and then the in the one where her hair is straight, I think she looks like Melissa. Craziness. Any ways, those are all fun pics and that is cool that you guys got to go see all that fun stuff while you were there. I bet you will look back on that time and think it was the greatest ever!

  2. Cin, we're on, we got our computer last week and have finally got everything hooked up and running. We still have to use some crazy expensive phone line system to call, but internet, we're all good. So, fun to read about all of your fun doings. Your kids are the cutest and I'm pretty sure you're the funnest mom around. Every time I read about your fun doings I want to be more like you. Your kids are going to have some fun memories. My kids are going to remember me freaking out about them crossing the street. It's a little crazy over here and we have to walk everywhere or take a taxi and it's a little stressful, especially with all four of them wandering along anywhere they want to in the road. Anyway, fun and your kids are the cutest kids ever invented.

  4. Hey there! Your kids are getting so big, especially Jerzi! I did go to the reunion, it was good, glad I was in town for it, there wasn't a great turnout (probably why you haven't talked to anyone who went cuz there weren't many there, haha) but it was fun to see people who I literally hadn't seen in 10 years and see where they ended up and their families and then see some people who I only see occasionally. They did a good job with the food, location, etc. so that was good too. But it would have been better with more people, but what can ya do right.

Anyway, hope you guys are doing great wherever you are now...
    see you
