Breakin Him In Early

The apartment complex that we moved to is nice, especially for this part of town.  We are super excited to have gotten a good place, and in a nice location.  It has a swimming pool, tennis courts, and workout room.  We're across the street from a paved running trail that goes for miles and miles through the woods and up and down little hills.  And we're 10 minutes away from the airport, and 15 minutes away from Hadley's school.  Since we have a pool, we thought we better take advantage of it before they close it for the fall.  So we took Jete swimmin at one month old!  The water was a little chilly, but he didn't seem to mind.  Well, he didn't cry anyways.

We also met up with my good friend Karlie Dean (Holman) and her little fam at a Cleveland Indians game.  We have been friends since middle school, were roommates in college, and now her husband is going to dental school in Columbus.  So we were pretty excited to find out that we were going to be living in the same state.  Of course, we could have got a babysitter for Jete, but thought we might as well bring him along cuz he needs to get use to this!  Hopefully there's a lot more baseball in this kid's life.  :)  He was such a good boy.  He slept almost the entire time.  But when the Indians started making a comeback, the crowd got a little freaky and the drummer guy was sitting in our section.  So every time it got real loud, he would wake up and yell and scream along with everyone.  Only his yelling wasn't exactly for the game.  Luckily the crowd and those drums were so loud that no one could hear him.

White Coat Ceremony

I am so proud of Had!.  He has worked so hard to get where he is at right now.  Seeing him get his white coat made me think of how hard  he studied in undergrad when I would have rather had him pay attention to me, and play, and hang out with me.  It made all those moments seem worth it.  I know he is going to do so good in podiatry school and that he is going to make an awesome doctor one day!

Cute Boys!

He makes one good lookin doctor!

And we gotta add this little munchkin in here, because man, he's so dang cute too!

Jeter with Daddy, only 2 days old!

Our baby is straight up gangster!

He was so cute in his little suit, smiling like crazy, then once we got the camera out, he didn't want to smile any more. Instead he busted out the "peace out" sign.

He must have been ticked at me for takin his picture!

Moving to The Ohio

We actually moved!  We had tons of help from our families packing and getting our apartment cleaned out.  It was such a huge help, since I had to stop and feed Jete all the time, plus figure out how to be a mom.  We packed up everything we owned in the trunks of our cars and a tiny little 4x8 U-Haul trailer.  It was quite the site to see.  Hadley and John Pocock had every inch of that thing packed in as tight as a wedgie, thanks to them mapping everything out beforehand.  I just wanted to get a bigger trailer, but they were sure they could make it all fit.  Well, that they did.  (Although while we were packing, I think Kerr and Had threw away anything they could get their hands on without me seeing them.)  Now that we had everything in the trailer, the only thing left I had to worry about was traveling across the country with a 3 week old baby.

He was actually so good, and I'm glad he was only 3 weeks, cuz he still just slept like crazy.  It wasn't bad at all.  Hadley and his mom drove our two cars out there, I just rode as a passenger "in case Jete needed me", and John pulled the trailer with his pick up.    We drove and drove and drove some more.

When you're in the trucking business, there's no way you can drive through Iowa without stopping at this place.  The I-80 Truckstop, The World's Largest Truckstop!

It was a fun little trip, (as fun as it can be when it still hurts to sit down, and you have to sit in a car all day for  days.)  We finally made it to our cute little apartment.  John and Melissa helped us unpack the car and trailer, then John took off that same day.  Crazy man!  Melissa stayed and helped us get everything unpacked and settled in. We love them and all the help they are always giving us. They are two amazing, selfless people I tell ya!

Jeter's Blessing

Because we were moving so soon after Jeter was born, we wanted to hurry and bless him in Rexburg before we moved, so our families could be there for it.  So on August 5th, we gave him a blessing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I was so nervous that he would cry or scream during the blessing, I prayed to have help keeping him calm.  Well, Hadley gave him a beautiful blessing and Jeter was fabulous throughout the whole meeting, including the blessing.  But as soon as the meeting got over, he did what babies do best.  He had a major blowout all over his cute little blessing outfit!  It was one of those that was so disgusting and everywhere, that you just sit there for awhile and stare, cuz you're not even sure where to start.  Plus, the outfit was a once piecer, so it had to come up off over his head.  Yeah, disgusting.

(I figured out when I went to change him why it was everywhere....Hadley's grandma came over right before we left for church, and she had changed his diaper for me.  Turns out she did a bad job getting it all nice and snug.   Lesson learned!)
You can kinda see that yellowish stuff in his pant leg on the bottom right corner.  Yep, that's poop.  The whole back of the outfit was that color.

So we had to change him right when we got home, and got no pictures in his blessing clothes, except for that one above.  This was after we got him all nice and cleaned up.

Dress up day!
I still wanted to get at least some sort of pictures in his outfit so a couple days later, here he is.
