Lovin the 4th

There are lots of reasons we love and celebrate the 4th of July. We love our country, our freedom, and all the people that were/are fighting for it. I can't help but smile on this day. It's also a fun day to celebrate with all the fun things going on, especially when you have a kid. Jete makes this day a thousand times more fun for us. Here are some of the ways we celebrated the 4th this year.

A Big Parade
(haha)
Jete love, love, loved the parade. He was so excited he never calmed down (except to eat a few pieces of candy). He's just jumpin up and down he's so excited to watch everything and get more candy.

Jeter was not shy when it came to running out in the road to grab candy. Yes that would be our kid out in the middle of the street, closest to the banner.

Here's a couple of his friends that he watched the parade with.

Good Food and Friends

Donuts and loads of candy, what more could a kid want?

Some of the Idaho peeps hangin out before the firework show.

Lots of Fireworks

We went to a firework show on the 3rd and 4th. Jete loved it so much!!! When we put him in the car after the fireworks were over the first night, he started crying. We asked him what was wrong and he said, "more fireworks."

Showin off his muscles

We let him do sparklers while we waited for the fireworks to start. He was obsessed with them. When we stopped lighting them for him, he made some new friends that had sparklers and decided to hang out with them instead of us.

He was so excited to see the fireworks for the second night. He had been talking about the them all day. Once they started, he was so funny. Every time there was a big one or lots at a time, he would start yelling and saying "OH MAAAN!!! BIG FIREWORK!" or "Ohhh NOOO!" (as in oh no, did you just see that?)

Flag Football Tourney

We LOVE Football!!!

Last year we played in a flag football tournament that Had's school put on for a fundraiser. We won the whole tournament last year, so of course we had to come back this year and show 'em it wasn't a fluke. We won it all again this year! (A little too easily i might add.... championship game score: 40-0.) And to those of you thinking that i am pregnant and shouldn't be playing football....relax, i was very careful. Here's our championship team.

We debated whether we should get a babysitter for Jeter or take him with us and decided that he would probably like to go, so we brought him along for the day. He loved it. He only ran out on the field a couple times to come out and play "catch" with us. He just sat and watched us, ate snacks, and played on the sidelines the whole time. I guess a day's worth of football wore him out cuz he was guzzling the gatorade.

Warm Water = Little Fish

I'm not gonna lie, we were a little nervous that Jete would be afraid of the water after a couple incidents of falling in....he never wanted to get in. He always just wanted to run like crazy all around the pool. Yeah, scary! Anyways, they heated our pool a little warmer than usual and like magic, Jete became a little fish. He loves the water and wants to go swimming every day.

This part gets a little scary. He loves to jump in and he'll just take off running and jump and we better hope that we get there before he does. He's crazy!

He used to hate getting any little splash on him at all. Now here he is kickin his feet and laughing like crazy as he splashes his daddy.

A piggy back ride and then...the escape. I guess he had enough of being held, the little monster.

The floaties had to go on and Jete was off cruizin.

Happy Day!!!

We just found out we are going to be having a little girl!!! We're so excited it's hard to think about anything else. Jeter has been telling us all along that we are going to have a baby girl, but given my family's track record, we thought there was no way. So they triple checked for us when they did the ultrasound. :) It has been so much fun having Jete in our lives that we can hardly wait for this little girl to come. Had says he hopes she's just like Jete, with just as much energy. She's due Nov. 5th, (they moved my due date back 9 days because she is measuring smaller) :( So anyways, we're super excited and oh yeah, to all the peeps that didn't know, SURPRISE, I'M PREGNANT!!!

A Little of Everything

I have been somewhat of a blog slacker lately, and so this is gonna be a little bit about what we have been up to. During Had's finals, me and Jete went home to Idaho for 2 weeks. We loved being there and seeing everyone. Had's younger brother Brayden got home from his mission, and we got to be there to hear his report. While we were home, we went to everyone's everything's. It was so much fun. We got to watch my mom's choir concert, Maycee's dance recital and kindergarten program, Ashton's soccer game, Linzfizz's basketball game, Kenzie's softball games, and help Bird get ready for prom. We rode four-wheelers and Harleys, talked till all hours of the night, took naps, and hung out with everyone. I love being home, breathing fresh non-smoke filled air, and letting Jete go wild at the Grandparents house and not having to worry about the "Mad Lady" getting mad that lives below us. The only thing that would have made our trip better was to have Had there enjoying it all with us. But he kicked some major booty on his tests so i guess it was worth it.

When i got back from Idaho, Had had a week off of school and he was supposed to be studying for his boards, but we had to take advantage of our time together, so he didn't get much studyin done. Oopsies.

At the zoo

We do a lot of this...he loves basketball! Who can blame him right? (In case you didn't know, I miss it like crazy! My scary basketball dreams have started coming back, where i'm late and miss my game, or i can't find my shoes, or i can't make a basket. Only 4 more months until my league starts up again. Wahoo!)

I'm beginning to love dandelions. This is the first one that was ever picked for me by my sweet little Jete.

Pullin it out of his pocket to give to me, aww what a sweet boy!

I love you Jeter!

Taking advantage of the warm nights, sitting around a fire, cookin smores, and roastin hot dogs.

Visitors, YAY!!!

It's always fun when peeps come see us. My sister Holly and her fam got to come stay with us for the Easter weekend. It was so fun to have them here, even though we got a noise complaint called on us from the "Mad Lady" that lives below us. HAHA Well, whenever someone comes to see us, then of course we need to take them to Kirtland. So we packed lunches for us and spent the whole day doing church history sites. It's always so cool to hear about the church history that happened right here, and be in the exact room where Heavenly Father and Jesus were. They also had a really cool bronze exhibit of all sorts of Christ sculptures set up at the visitor's center, which we had never seen. They were amazing!

Our nice little picnic in Kirtland. After we got done eating, Jeff and Had decided to have a contest who could throw a grape up the highest and catch it in their mouth. Well after some fat lips and sore teeth, it quickly evolved into other items of food being tossed in the air. Here's a pic of Had catching a sliced tomato from our sandwhich.... only he caught it with his face, not his mouth.

We also went swimming at the rec center down the road. It was fun for most peeps, just not Jete. We went during the time he is normally taking a nap, and he was struggling. Here he is being nerdy, trying to decide if he should be crying or laughing. This was right before i figured out he had pooped his little swim diaper. Yeah, that is pretty disgusting and hard to clean off.

My cute little nephews, Grey and Miles, enjoying the lazy river.

Jete LOVED being with his cousins. He followed them everywhere. When we would all load up in the cars to go somewhere, Jete thought he should ride with them and would just climb in their van and act like he was one of them. He cried every time we would pull him out and put him in our car. Poor little guy needs to be around all his cousins more. It was a sad day when they were leaving. He cried as we watched them drive away. I'm so glad that he at least gets to see some of his cousins every once in awhile. Thanks again for coming guys, we loved it!

Easter

It was fun to celebrate Easter this year with my sister and her family. We all decorated Easter cookies Saturday night. Here's some of our best creations, or the ones that didn't get eaten first. We even got Had and Jeff to decorate some....only cuz we told them they couldn't eat any unless they decorated it. Too bad I didn't get any pics of their wonderful masterpieces though, they were lookin good.

Here's everyone Easter Morning eating all their treats.
I don't know how many pictures I took over the weekend where I tried to get everyone to smile. Who knew candy would do the trick?

Jete was so happy when he got his Easter basket. I'm sure he couldn't figure out why we were just letting him eat candy like crazy, but he didn't want to try and find out. He shoved in the candy as fast as he could.

We had a little Easter egg hunt for all the kids. Jete was pretty funny. He ran and got the first egg he saw, shook it, and said, "CANDY!" (Although it sounds more like NANNY!) He opened the egg and dumped it out on the rocks where he could see each piece, then picked them up one by one, eating them off the ground. After he found each egg, he wanted the candy out of them immediately!

Here's all the little tikes showing off their loot....notice Jeter is still looking for more of his candy on the ground.
